Riding Holidays

The luxurious accommodation, handsome Andalucian horses and surrounding Natural Park - not to mention the beach, make El Aguilón pretty unique if you’re looking for the perfect combination of comfort, fine horses and superb riding country.

From October until May, this area is a riders’ paradise . . . The countryside is at it's best, the weather is perfect and the rugged country and long white sandy beaches are just made for exploring on horseback.

We offer a number of ‘trail-riding’weeks throughout the year. These are carefully planned routes using the cork-cutters' tracks through the woods and old smugglers' trails down to the beach. Lunch is often a picnic under the trees or at a little tapas bar on the beach. At the end of the day guests can unwind in the luxurious comfort of El Aguilón.

Riding at El Aguilón is a truly exhilirating experience, but you don´t need to come for a full week of ‘trail-riding’ to enjoy it. We have reliable horses to suit all standards, and while some people may want to ride off into the hills for the day, other clients may feel happy with just a couple of gentle rides through the cork forests combined with some lessons in our sand arena during their stay. All clients are accompanied by our experienced guide who is proficient in English and Spanish.

In the hot summer months, guests can lie by the pool in the shade of the orange grove during the day, and still enjoy an evening ride. It’s light until 10pm so there’s plenty of time for a gentle hack before dinner. Don’t forget that you can book a session with the masseur if needed!

We use English saddles, but Spanish saddles are available. We do our best to ensure that riders are of a similar standard. We also try to keep the groups as small as possible (maximum 6).

These trail-riding weeks are also ideal for non-riding partners who will have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the swimming pools, tennis etc. at El Aguilon. View the ‘Health Week’ option available to all El Aguilón clients. We are happy to arrange tickets to see the Spanish riding school in Jerez.
