Pizzeria Tribu Playa
8 mins’ drive direction Tarifa :
Open 1pm - 1am
Superb thin-based pizzas, good house wine and great banoffee.
Very convenient any time of day. Don't be put off by its location, there's a pretty garden with tables at the back. Play area for children.
Also does take-away. If there's a big game going on, you can be sure Tribu Playa will be showing it on their big screens. You get the idea!
BB recommends: 'Pizza Punta Paloma', 'Pizza Vegetal de Luxe', 'gnocchi con jamon serrano'
Just past the turn to Punta Paloma you’ll see a cluster of buildings on the RH side of the main road. Tribu Playa is the long, single storey, burgundy coloured building with Pizzeria written in large white letters.
NB there's another Tribu pizzeria in the centre of Tarifa which isn’t nearly as good!
3 mins’ drive Facinas : Dinner starts 8.30pm Closed Tuesday
NB During the summer months arrive early or reserve a table
Best meat restaurant in the whole area, so if you enjoy a good steak and hearty Andalucian cooking in cosy surroundings, el Nene with its extensive meat menu, barbecue and very reasonable prices is a winner! Family owned, they raise all their own meat and grow their own veg so if your Spanish is good, you can ask the full history of the meat from the waiter. NB the portions are HUGE, and delicious!
BB recommends: Solomillo, Carillada, Rabo de Toro and for the children 'Pinchito de Cordero' (lamb pinchito) . They have a particularly nice wine 'Protos' which is very reasonably priced.
10 mins’ drive Bolonia : Dinner starts 8.30pm Closed Tuesday
1 May - 15 Oct open daily except Tuesdays
15 Oct - 1 May open weekends and public holidays ONLY
Famous for its superb fish and a firm favourite with people visiting from Madrid, Las Rejas is a MUST at least once during your stay at El Aguilon. No view, but the superb fish far outweighs that!
Recommendations: gambas al ajillo, almejas, croquetas de choco, choco en su tinta,
BB recommends: 'Gambas al ajillo', 'almejas', croquetas de choco, choco en su tinta.
