RESTAURANTS
We have put together a carefully curated list of our favourite restaurants in the area.

BAR EL FRANCÉS
The best tapas in Tarifa! The quality of food is exceptional. It can get quite busy in the evening, so we recommend going there at lunchtime for tapas.

LAS REJAS - Bolonia
Just a few minutes' drive from El Aguilon, this superb family run fish restaurant is a firm favourite. No view but makes no difference if you go in the evening.
Try the croquetas de choco and the almejas.

EL MIRLO
Glorious position above Punta Paloma with stunning views across the Straits. Newly refurbished and a great Mediterranean menu. Need to book. If you are lucky enough to get a table then it's a must! A winner with all the family.

EL CAMPERO
Without a doubt, the best fish restaurant in the area, El Campero combines tradition and modernity. An unexpected location in an urbanization, but people drive for miles around to El Campero where bluefin tuna is the star! A little pricey but 100% worth a visit during your stay.

SUNSET
Caribbean style beach bar on Bolonia beach with fantastic views and great mojitos. Chilled atmosphere, perfect quiet spot to watch the sun go down.

SERENADE
Scruffy little beach bar at the far left end of Bolonia. The windsurfers go onto the beach from here, so there's a fun atmosphere. Food is the usual beach bar fare and music can be rather loud, but great place to watch the action and still one of our favourites.

TUMBAO
Tarifa is home to the famous TUMBAO beach bar. Mojitos, music, and models. In the afternoons it's very relaxed; you can enjoy an afternoon reading a book whilst sipping a delicious mojito. In the early evening they turn up the volume.

WAVES
Tucked behind the dunes, this scruffy little beach bar is well off the beaten-track so not many people know about it. Fun spot for a bite to eat at lunchtime, and good cocktails. Sit in a deckchair and enjoy the view across to Morocco.

BIBO
Marbella meets Tarifa. 3 Michelin starred chef Dani Garcia. Terrific contemporary menu but it comes at a price. Worth a visit for a special occasion or if you just feel like really being spoiled! Open until 1am

SURLA
Surla is a laid-back café with a cool vibe on Tarifa town beach. The coffee is great, and they have nice cakes. Great spot for lunch if you're near town. Terrific salads, vegetarian and vegan options. Parking is usually easy as it's not in the centre of town.

SILOS 19
A trendy restaurant in Tarifa old town with great food and friendly staff. They have an interesting selection of dishes including grilled octopus, pig cheeks, and stuffed mushrooms. It's very popular so be sure to book a table in advance!

EL JARDÍN del Punta Sur
Relaxed, atmospheric dining served in stunning gardens. El Jardín del Punta Sur is renowned in Tarifa for its unique setting. In the evenings the garden transforms into a candlelit restaurant, with tables set among palm trees with peacocks roaming free.

21
This exquisite little restaurant is in Zahara de los Atunes, 25 minutes from El Aguilon. The quality of food is fantastic, with unique textures and flavours crafted by Chef Alessandro Palmieri. We highly recommend an evening in 21 Restaurant!

TABERNA LA MORENA
Hidden in a beautiful square, La Morena is a real pleasure. Fresh and inventive food. It's a little expensive, but worth it for a special night.

VENTORILLO EL NENE · closed on Tues & Wed ·
The best meat restaurant in the area. Hearty Andalusian cuisine and great steak in a cosy setting. El Nene, with its extensive meat menu, barbecue, excellent tapas and very reasonable prices is a winner! Family owned, they raise all of their own meat and grow their own vegetables. Perfect place to drop in for some tapas close to home. Open 9am - midnight
*Recommend: Carillada, Rabo de Toro, Pinchito de Cordero

VACA LOCA
In the heart of Tarifa, Vaca Loca is a great meat restaurant. Enjoy a tasty steak, or chicken on a skewer. The portions are huge!

TEMAKI
A popular choice for a modern twist on traditional sushi. Service is slow, but great menu is well worth the wait. Great vegetarian options. Easy to find in the centre of Tarifa old town.
Very popular so book early.

09 ZERO NUEVE
Don't be put off by the interior of this pizzeria - book a table in the garden at the back, it's beautiful and the pizza is great! We love the Jamón Serrano y Rúcula Pizza - the Gnocchi Jamón Serrano is delicious, too. It's a short 6 minute drive away.

CAFÉ AZUL
Café Azul is our favourite brunch spot! It's just by the main arch in Tarifa town, and serves a wide range of toasts, granola bowls, crepes, omelettes, and much more! Their smoothies are delicious. Café Azul is a great choice if you've spent a morning exploring Tarifa's boutiques. The staff are very friendly.

EL SOUK
This great Moroccan restaurant has been a firm favourite for many years. Their Moroccan chef has a great menu and the decoration is very authentic. On the outskirts of Tarifa old town, so fairly easy to park
