RESTAURANTS
We have put together a carefully curated list of our favourite restaurants in the area.

BAR EL FRANCÉS
The best tapas in Tarifa! The quality of food is exceptional. The menu is always changing, and you can expect to find traditional Spanish dishes with a twist. It can get quite busy in the evenings and you can't reserve, so we recommend going there at lunchtime for tapas.

BAR ANCA CURRO · closed on Sundays ·
A tiny, charming tapas bar in the heart of Tarifa old town. It's only open in the evenings, and the ambience is loud and fast paced! A favourite among locals, the food is delicious, simple, and authentically Andalusian. (Don't expect smiles or friendly service, it's the local way!). No reservations, best for couples or small groups. Open 19.30 - 01.00

EL BURGATO
You'll find El Burgato in the winding streets of Tarifa old town. Fresh, creative food in a contemporary setting. The albondigas are very tasty!

NO.6
No.6 is a great little tapas place by close to the arch in Tarifa old town. It's popular among the kitesurfers, and has a good atmosphere in the evenings. Often the food on the sugerencias board is the best!

EL COCEDERO DEL VARADERO
An excellent seafood restaurant by the harbour in Tarifa. Paper table cloths, plastic chairs, and some of the freshest seafood in town. The atmosphere is very authentic - the locals stand and chat in front of the fish counter at midday drinking cañas.

LAS REJAS - Bolonia
Just a few minutes' drive from El Aguilon, this superb, family run fish restaurant is a an old favourite. Sadly there isn't a sea view, but it makes no difference if you go in the evening.

OTERO
Glorious views over Bolonia beach and the Roman Ruins. They have a wonderful fish menu, and it's a great place to have lunch if you are spending the day on Bolonia beach. You do need to book ahead.

EL CAMPERO
Without a doubt, the best fish restaurant in the area, El Campero combines tradition and modernity. An unexpected location in an urbanization, but people drive for miles around to El Campero where bluefin tuna is the star! A little pricey but 100% worth a visit during your stay.

GAIA BEACH CLUB
Great food, cocktails, music, and service. Best to reserve a table if you want to eat as it can get quite busy. It's more expensive than some of the other beach bars, but worth it. The view from their terrace at sunset is breathtaking!

SUNSET
A laid-back beach bar on Bolonia beach with fantastic views and great mojitos. The waiters are friendly, and they often have live-music. It's the perfect spot to watch the sun go down.

SERENADE
Scruffy little beach bar at the far left end of Bolonia. The windsurfers go onto the beach from here, so there's a fun atmosphere. Food is the usual beach bar fare and music can be rather loud, but great place to watch the action and good for families.

BIBO
Marbella meets Tarifa. 3 Michelin starred chef Dani Garcia set up this beach bar a few years ago. Terrific contemporary menu, stylish design, but a little over priced. It does get very mixed reviews, but a lot of our guests absolutely love it! Their parking is a huge plus in the summer months. You do need to book ahead.

TUMBAO
Tarifa is home to the famous TUMBAO beach bar with mojitos, music, and models. It's hugely popular among the surfers and can get very crowded. In the early evening they really turn up the volume - great fun if a party is what you're looking for!

SILOS 19
A trendy restaurant in Tarifa old town with great food and friendly staff. They have an interesting selection of dishes including grilled octopus, pig cheeks, and stuffed mushrooms. It's very popular so be sure to book a table in advance!

EL JARDÍN del Punta Sur
Relaxed, atmospheric dining served in beautiful gardens. In the evenings the garden transforms into a candlelit restaurant, with tables set among palm trees with peacocks roaming free. Great for families. Only worth going in the summer months, as the interior restaurant lacks charm.

21
This exquisite little restaurant is in Zahara de los Atunes, 25 minutes from El Aguilon. The quality of food is fantastic, with unique textures and flavours crafted by Chef Alessandro Palmieri. We highly recommend an evening in 21 Restaurant!

VENTORILLO EL NENE · closed on Tues & Wed ·
A short drive from El Aguilon, El Nene is the best meat restaurant in the area. If a local, authentic Andalusian restaurant is what you're looking for, this is the place for you! Family owned, they raise all of their own meat and grow a lot of their own vegetables. Open 9am - midnight
*Recommend: Carillada, Presa Ibérica, Jamón Ibérico

VACA LOCA
In the heart of Tarifa, Vaca Loca is a great meat restaurant. Enjoy a tasty steak, or chicken on a skewer. The portions are huge!

TEMAKI
A popular choice for a modern twist on traditional sushi. Service is slow, but great menu is well worth the wait. Great vegetarian options. Easy to find in the centre of Tarifa old town.
Very popular so book early.

09 ZERO NUEVE
Don't be put off by the interior of this pizzeria - book a table in the garden at the back, it's beautiful and the pizza is great! We love the Jamón Serrano y Rúcula Pizza - the Gnocchi Jamón Serrano is delicious, too. It's a short 6 minute drive away.

EL SOUK
This great Moroccan restaurant has been a firm favourite for many years. Their Moroccan chef has a great menu and the decoration is very authentic. On the outskirts of Tarifa old town, so fairly easy to park

EL JARDIN DEL CALIFA
A little further afield, in the town of Vejer, you'll find this fabulous Moroccan restaurant. Set in a charming courtyard in the middle of the historic centre, El Jardín del Califa is definitely worth visiting. Combine it with an early-evening walk around the trendy little shops in the old town, before having a drink in the main square.

SURLA
Surla is a laid-back café with a cool vibe on Tarifa town beach. The coffee is great, and they have nice cakes. Great spot for lunch if you're near town. Terrific salads, vegetarian and vegan options. Parking is usually easy as it's not in the centre of town.

CAFÉ AZUL
Café Azul is our favourite brunch spot! It's just by the main arch in Tarifa town, and serves a wide range of toasts, granola bowls, crepes, omelettes, and much more! Their smoothies are delicious. Café Azul is a great choice if you've spent a morning exploring Tarifa's boutiques. The staff are very friendly.
