Each cottage has its own character, with comfortable living spaces, cooking facilities and access to the gardens and grounds of El Aguilón.

The Sunshine Tour can mean several weeks away from home, often with different horses competing at different stages of the event.
For horses that have completed their classes while their riders continue competing with others, Cortijo El Aguilón may offer an alternative to remaining at the busy showground.
With horses already part of life at the Cortijo, we understand the importance of space, routine and a peaceful environment.
We are exploring a limited number of private rest and turnout arrangements for suitable horses, subject to individual requirements, facility availability and prior agreement.
Whether your horse has finished its competition schedule or simply needs somewhere appropriate to stay before travelling home, we would be happy to discuss what may be possible.

Spend a free afternoon walking along the beach at Bolonia, enjoy freshly caught tuna at a local restaurant, explore the Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia or simply return to the Cortijo and enjoy the peace of the gardens.

How far is Cortijo El Aguilón from Montenmedio?
Cortijo El Aguilón is approximately 21 minutes by car from Dehesa Montenmedio, home of the Andalucía Sunshine Tour. Driving times may vary with traffic and road conditions.
Can I book an individual cottage?
Yes. Our four cottages are available for individual bookings, making them suitable for riders, couples, families and small groups.
Can I stay for several competition weeks?
Yes, subject to availability. Please contact us directly if you're planning an extended stay so we can discuss suitable arrangements.
Can I bring my horse to El Aguilón?
We are considering a limited number of rest and turnout arrangements for horses that have completed their competition schedule. These would be assessed individually and must be agreed in advance. Please contact us before making any transport arrangements.
Can I book accommodation for several riders or families?
Yes. If you're travelling together and would like to reserve more than one cottage, please contact us to discuss availability.
Is El Aguilón suitable for spectators?
Absolutely. Our cottages provide a peaceful countryside base for visitors attending the Sunshine Tour, with easy access to the competition and opportunities to explore Tarifa and the surrounding area.
